The First International Symposium on Advances in Phage Therapeutics has successfully concluded!

We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 1st International Symposium on Advances in Phage Therapeutics. The event brought together a vibrant community of researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders, marking a significant moment for the advancement of phage therapy.

We were delighted to host a total of 143 participants (from 25 countries), whose enthusiasm and insightful contributions created a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.

A special and heartfelt thank you goes to the students of the HOP and our own students who provided invaluable support throughout the symposium. Your dedication and hard work were essential to the smooth running and success of the event.

To all who attended, presented, and engaged in discussions, we extend our sincerest gratitude. It was your collective energy that made this first edition so memorable.

We hope you found the symposium both enriching and inspiring. We look forward to welcoming you all again at the next congress as we continue to explore the promising future of phage therapeutics together.

Welcome to the Symposium on Phage Therapy!

We are delighted to welcome you to the 1st International Symposium on Advances in Phage Therapeutics, set to take place, between the 16-17th of June 2025, in Braga (Portugal) – one of the country’s oldest cities and the heart of the Minho region. Braga beautifully intertwines history with innovation, making it an ideal environment for discussions on the latest advancements in phage therapy and biotechnology.

Building on the success of the Virus of Microbes (VoM) conference in 2022 in Portugal, the organizers are now excited to announce this inaugural symposium dedicated to phage therapeutics.

This symposium will bring together renowned international experts, researchers, and healthcare professionals to delve into the phage therapy for human medicine. We will cover both phages and phage-based solutions, integrating insights from genomics, bioinformatics, and genetic engineering.

The program will explore current and future trends on phage therapy divided into five sessions:

  • Session 1: Phage therapy challenges & advances (16th)
  • Session 2: Personalized phage therapy (16th)
  • Session 3: Phage pharmacokinetics (17th)
  • Session 4: Phage therapy for chronic infections (17th)
  • Session 5: Breakthroughs in phage therapy (17th)

We look forward to your participation in this exciting event, where we can collectively push the boundaries of phage therapeutics.
